Our family’s love of Kenya began over 40 years ago during Minnie’s life-changing four-year stay in Nairobi, from which we gained a number of deep and lasting friendships, together with an appreciation of the beauty of this country and the friendliness of its people. As a result, we embarked on our first family safari holiday in Kenya some 20 years ago.
This was followed by three of our children volunteering to work and teach in different schools across the country before they went to university. Frequent visits to Kenya ensued, and learning that the Dyer family were looking for one last shareholder to help support their vision for conservation in Laikipia was too good an opportunity to miss. Now, some five years later, Lengishu is built and has become our home in Kenya. The primary focus was to make as little impact on the surroundings as possible by using sustainable and local building materials.
