Day & Night Game Drives

Enjoy unforgettable game drives across the spectacular Borana Conservancy in Lengishu’s custom designed, four-wheel drive vehicles that guarantee comfort and exceptional game viewing. As Borana is a private conservation area exclusivity is guaranteed meaning game drives are personal, peaceful and uninterrupted. Guests will be driven by a member of the Lengishu team, the best time to view wildlife is in the mornings or afternoons and Big 5 game viewing is great year round. Night game drives can be arranged and will give guests the opportunity to meet nocturnal birds and animals such as Porcupines, Honey Badgers and Leopards.

Bush Walks

Guided bush walks give guests the opportunity to appreciate the smaller aspects of this ecosystem as well as the opportunity to encounter wildlife from a different perspective. Our extremely knowledgeable and experienced rangers can teach guests about the plants as well as the smaller creatures which live around Lengishu.

Pride Rock

Enjoy a two hour bush walk to the original Pride Rock, where Disney’s Lion King took their inspiration. This beautiful rock formation is found at the centre of the conservancy, with spectacular views deep into the Northern Frontier.

Mountain Biking

Lengishu has a range of mountain bikes and for those guests seeking adventure. The hills and valleys provide perfect terrain for adrenaline-fuelled riding. This isn’t for the faint hearted as hill climbs can be long and steep, but bikes give guests the opportunity to travel long distances at their own pace surrounded by nature.

eBiking

e-Bikes use a battery to help you pedal making uphill climbs seem effortless. You can get as much or as little ‘assistance’ from the battery as you like, a truly exhilarating way to see and experience Borana Conservancy. Hiring e-Bikes is an additional cost. This activity is run by Wild Rides, an e-Bike touring company operating out of the Borana Conservancy. Please speak to our reservations team if you're interested.

Bush Breakfasts

Not many experiences are more memorable, or quite as Kenyan as breakfast in the bush at one of Lengishus' chosen spots. A set table will welcome you after your mornings activity, and breakfast will be cooked in front of you by Head Chef Sam and his team.

Picnic Lunches

With several unique lunch spots available, the most wild is a picnic lunch alongside the Ngare Ndare River. Lengishu’s team will create a beautiful lunch set-up, with food prepared and cooked by Head Chef Sam, and drinks served as guests relax by the sound of running, river water. This scenic spot lends itself nicely to a post lunch snooze too.

Sundowners

Lengishu has several spectacular spots for Sundowners, including Pride Rock and a new area which was built in 2022. Guests can walk to this new space from the house and it’s large enough for Barman Martin also known as ‘the Liquid Chef’ to create his pop-up bar meaning the drinks menu is endless. Martin loves making cordials from botanical plants that grow around Lengishu and creating his own cocktails!

Rhino Tracking

Lengishu encourages guests to help with conservation and one way is to join the team of rangers who track both black and white rhino. The team set out every morning to find and account for each rhino on the conservancy. You will learn how to track rhino, how to identify each individual and how to safely move through the bush on foot. This unique experience which gives a true behind the scenes insight into how the conservancy keeps rhino safe.

Horse Riding

Borana is home to stables which can cater to all riding abilities and offers some of the best riding experiences in Kenya, with majestic views towards Mount Kenya. The horses are mostly home-bred thoroughbred crosses which are sure footed and comfortable with wildlife. From the stables guests can meander across the plains among Giraffes, Zebra and various Antelope. This activity is supplied by Riding Wild Borana, located at the Borana Conservancy head quarters.

Private Gym

For guests who wish to maintain their fitness routine during their safari holiday, Lengishu’s gym is well equipped with a cross trainer, exercise bike, treadmill and free standing weights. Yoga and exercise mats are also available
